PSA: my aunt texted me a 'Tom Hanks dead' headline from a site called Daily News Spot, and the byline was a guy named Bob
One click showed the same story ran in 2019 with a different name, which made me realize how often these fake celeb posts just swap the star and the year, so now I always check if the site has a real staff page before I even read past the headline, and I'm curious how many of you have caught one of these fake death hoaxes in the wild.
