Honestly, lunaf16 is right, but both jobs can feel like a grind sometimes.

inSaw a fence in a new subdivision that made me question a common rule
Honestly, that just sounds like they got lucky with the weather. Six foot spacing is still asking for trouble long term.

inMy local news ran a story about a 'controversial' new park statue, but the only angry quote came from a guy who lives two states over.
Right? The "fake outrage quota" thing is so real. My town paper did the same bit last month over a new bike lane. Their one angry source was a guy who doesn't even own a bike.

inI looked up that guy who went viral for the 'distracted boyfriend' meme
Wait, but @laura667, isn't that kind of sad? That picture is his whole identity to millions of strangers forever. It's not just a weird childhood thing, it's a brand he never chose. Think about the "distracted boyfriend" guy, he said it ruined his real life relationships because people only saw him as that cheater meme. Or the "hide the pain Harold" guy, who said he felt like a prisoner to a joke. The money helped, sure, but that's a huge trade. Your kid's face becomes a joke for medical bills. That's pretty dark when you think about it.

inSpent 3 hours chasing a phantom door lock fault on a 10-year-old Schindler 3300
Shim it like @lee18 did, that's the right move for a quick fix. Just make sure your metal shim is thick enough to take up the slack without bending. A bit of locktite on the bolt helps keep it all tight.
