Update: I got fooled by a fake celeb breakup post and here's how I checked it
Last Friday I was scrolling on my phone at a coffee shop in Austin and saw a post saying a famous couple split, and I almost shared it. Before I hit send, I searched for the same claim on 2 big news sites and found nothing. Then I ran the photo through a reverse image search and it was a shot from 2019. I posted a short breakdown in our group chat showing the fake date, and 3 friends said they had fallen for it too. What's your go to move for checking a wild rumor before you pass it along?
