Hot take: Local markets had seasonal produce you couldn't find anywhere else

Now you can get any ingredient anytime, but it doesn't feel the same.

Remember when strawberries only showed up in summer? My dad would drive us to this farm stand every June. The berries were so red they stained your fingers. Now they're in plastic clamshells all year, taste like water.

You're telling me strawberries used to stain your fingers? That sounds unreal. I've never seen a berry that red in my life. The ones I buy now are pale and don't leave a mark. It's crazy how much food has changed over the years. Makes you wonder what else we've lost in the name of convenience. I'd trade all the plastic clamshells for one taste of those real strawberries.

Honestly I love getting them any time of year though.
