Fighting a parking ticket in Chicago took me 11 months, and I want to warn people about the hearing part
Got a $65 ticket near the Whole Foods on Kingsbury for supposedly blocking an alley, except I was parked legally and had a photo with a timestamp. I contested it online in March thinking it would take a few weeks, and then waited almost 3 months just to get a hearing date in the mail. Showed up at the hearing office on LaSalle with my photos, and the officer never showed, so the judge tossed it in about 5 minutes. Eleven months total for something that got resolved in five minutes, which makes me wonder how many people just pay it because the wait is so long. Has anyone dealt with the mail hearing option instead of going in person, and did it take that long too?

Waited 11 months for a 5 minute hearing? That sounds made up honestly. People love to stretch these stories for drama, and I've paid tickets faster than that.
