My landlord in Logan Square kept my $1,200 deposit, the free legal aid clinic letter beat my own demand letter
I sent my landlord a demand letter I typed myself asking for my $1,200 deposit back after I moved out of my place near Logan Square, and he just ignored it for 6 weeks. Then I went to a free tenant legal aid clinic on Milwaukee Ave and they sent basically the same letter on their letterhead, and he mailed a check in 9 days. What is it about legal aid letterhead that gets people to move when a regular letter does nothing?

Does he check if legal aid actually filed anything, or is it just the letterhead?
