Am I the only one who had to choose between a cheap flight and a 12-hour train ride to visit family in Chicago?
Picked the train, saved about 800 pounds of CO2, but man, that was a long, cramped day and I'm not sure I can do it again for Thanksgiving.

That's a huge personal cost for a tiny drop in the global bucket. Your one trip won't change anything, but losing a whole day of your life is real. Just fly and donate to a climate fund if you're worried.

But what if we all thought like @stellat46?

Actually read a study that said if even 10% of people made that choice, it adds up to a massive cut in emissions. It's not just one drop in the bucket, it's how buckets get filled. Still sucks to lose a whole day though, I get it.
