Tried a rain barrel versus a basic garden hose for my tomatoes

The barrel water grew plants twice as big because it was softer and warmer, right? Anyone else notice a huge difference with collected rainwater?

Oh totally, it's not even close. My peppers last year were sad little things with tap water, all stunted. Switched to a barrel this spring and they're bushes now, covered in fruit. That chlorine in tap water must just wreck the soil life. Rainwater feels like giving them a super smoothie instead of junk food.

Watched my basil go from limp to lush after switching to rainwater. It's like the plants can finally breathe. That tap water chlorine just kills off all the good stuff in the dirt. Makes you wonder what else we're messing up without even knowing.
