Update: My conference trip has me stuck on airplane pollution
Just got home from a cross-country flight for a meeting that could've been an email. Watching all those planes queue up on the tarmac (and knowing what comes out the back) really got under my skin. It feels pointless when we have the tech to meet online most of the time. I'm vowing to push back on travel for stuff like this from now on. The whole thing just highlights how broken our system is.

Used to defend all that business travel as necessary for face to face connections. Watching a line of fifteen planes idle at Newark last month, all burning fuel just to wait their turn, really snapped something in me. Now I see it as a stubborn habit we're all paying for with the air we breathe.

But @laura_torres75, what about deals that only close in person?

That line about planes just burning fuel at Newark hit hard... I flew to Chicago last year for a "crucial" handshake meeting in a fancy suit. The guy just re-sent the same PDF I'd already seen. Felt like a fancy extra in my own pointless movie.
