Guy at a gas station in Tulsa fixed my feed speed issue with one question
I was grabbing coffee early last Tuesday at a Love's off I-44 and this old machinist saw my shop shirt. He asked if I was fighting chatter, then said 'what's your spindle load at 40%?' I checked and it was 8%, he told me to double the feed until it hits 15%. Ran a test on a 6061 part and it cut clean, saved me about 2 hours of fiddling. Anyone else ever get a fix from a random stranger that beat three forum threads?
