inMy grandma's garden tells a story about the weather changing.
My mom's rose bushes in Sacramento started dying off every summer a few years back. We put in a simple drip system on a timer, and it saved her whole garden. It was cheap to set up, and now she doesn't have to babysit the hose all day. Your grandma's story hits home, because I see the same shifts in my own neighborhood. Sometimes you gotta adapt before the whole thing turns into a cactus farm.

inI finally let my brisket rest the full time
Remember arguing with my dad about resting a pork shoulder. He said just leave it wrapped on the counter for an hour, but I pulled it straight to the board once. It looked like a crime scene, juice everywhere, meat was dry. Next cook I did what he said, let it sit wrapped in towels for two hours, and it was totally different. The whole thing stayed moist and just fell apart perfectly. Changed my whole game for big cuts.

inSerious question, are you seeing more cracked glass from temperature swings?
Actually, I've noticed this with car windshields too. Last winter, after a really cold night, I saw a bunch of new cracks on my neighbor's car. Maybe it's just me, but it seems like stuff isn't built to handle these quick changes anymore. My phone screen even got a hairline crack after leaving it in the sun then bringing it inside. It makes sense that windows would have the same issue.

inAfter decades, my manual coffee percolator still beats any fancy gadget
Nice! Gotta clean the tube regularly, trust me.

inCan we discuss the awkward silence when someone brings in an old family gun for 'upgrades'?
Found a thrift store jacket with dried paint stains, kept them.
