I was dead set against using an AI helper for my first Python project, but a 3am bug changed my mind
I spent two hours stuck on a list index error in my calculator script before finally pasting the code into ChatGPT out of pure frustration. It found the off by one mistake in 10 seconds and explained why range(len(my_list)) was wrong. Has anyone else had a tool actually teach you something instead of just handing you the answer?
The thing nobody talks about is how explaining your bug to an AI forces you to actually describe what you expected vs what happened, which is half the fix right there. Half my bugs get solved while I'm typing out the question because saying it in plain words makes the dumb mistake obvious. Tools that just spit out corrected code rob you of that, so the real value is in the back and forth.
