Warning: A year of bringing my own coffee mug paid off today when the barista knew my order by heart.

I mean, "paid off" seems like a strong way to put it. It's just a barista remembering your drink, which isn't that rare. Maybe it's just me but that doesn't sound like a huge win.

Look, @morgan_burns96, it's more than just a remembered drink. For a lot of people, that kind of recognition turns a boring routine into a positive human connection. It's a small win that brightens the day, and in today's world, we need all of those we can get.

Totally. Those tiny bits of kindness add up, you know? Makes the whole day feel a little less lonely.

But honestly, if we start calling every tiny interaction a win, doesn't that just lower the bar for what feeling good means? It feels like we're setting ourselves up to need constant little hits of approval just to get through a normal day. That barista is probably just good at their job, not making a special connection. Maybe we're just so used to being ignored that basic service feels amazing now, which is kind of sad.
