Finally cracked the $1 bin code at my local shop in Fresno and pulled a full run of Swamp Thing
I go to this shop in Fresno every Saturday and I always dug through the dollar bins but never found anything worth grabbing. The problem was I was flipping through them front to back like a normal person. A guy named Ray who has been going there for 20 years watched me do it and finally said something. He told me the good stuff gets buried near the back of each box because sellers dump new stock on top and it never gets to the front. So I started pulling the whole stack out and going through it from the back, and it took maybe 15 extra minutes. I pulled issues 20 through 34 of Swamp Thing in one go, all for a buck each, in decent shape too. Ray said he has been doing this for years and nobody ever asks him why. Has anyone else tried digging from the back of the box or is that just a thing at my shop?
