My cousin's kid just schooled me on comic book collecting
I was showing my nephew my old X-Men #137, the one where Jean Grey dies, and he asked why I keep it in a plastic bag. I told him it's to protect the value, and he said, 'But you never read it now, so what's the point?' He's 10. It hit different because I've spent 20 years worrying about condition and price, not just enjoying the story. Has anyone else had a kid make them rethink why they collect?

My friend's kid asked why his sealed Star Wars toys were still in the box.

Did he not get the memo about the investment plan?

Yeah the "did he not get the memo" thing is so real, @drew_rivera. I had a client who kept missing project updates because the emails went to his spam folder. We finally got him to check it regularly and added a quick text heads-up for big stuff. That fixed the whole communication gap.

Remember the time I missed three team meetings because the invites were on some calendar app I never check? (My boss had to call me, which was pretty embarrassing.) I felt like that guy who didn't get the memo, just staring at my empty schedule. We finally just went back to the old group text, which works way better for my chaos brain.
