Question about the guy at the library who said comics are only for kids

I was at the library in Tacoma last Saturday and some guy saw me checking out a stack of 6 trades and told me comics are only for kids and I should read real books. I asked him if he ever read Watchmen or Maus and he just laughed and walked off. It bugs me because I have been reading comics for 22 years and I still get this same line from grown adults. What do you all say when someone hits you with that one?
