PSA: the "watch out for the christmas tree" warning at the rig actually saved my fins
Two summers ago in Morgan City a deck hand kept telling me to watch the christmas tree valve cluster on the wellhead, and I figured he was just hazing the new guy. Three dives later my hose snagged on that exact fitting at 60 feet and my tender had to pull me free, so yeah, he was right. He never said a word after, just handed me a coffee and pointed at the tree. Any of you got a superstitious rig hand whose warnings turned out to be dead on?
