Can we talk about how much fiber mesh adds to the price of a load?

I was looking at my quote from the supplier last week and noticed fiber mesh tacked on an extra $15 per yard. Never really added it up before but that's like $300 on a 20 yard pour. Does anyone just skip it on flatwork or is that asking for trouble?

Skip it on sidewalks all the time but not on driveways, my two cents.

Idk, sidewalks and driveways feel like they're basically the same thing in terms of walking surface though. Maybe it's just me but I see people trip on both all the time. If you're skipping the sidewalk but not the driveway, seems like you'd be less consistent with the whole thing. I've always just done both or neither depending on how I'm feeling that day.

Read an article saying driveways get more wear so skipping them makes sense.
