inSpent $600 on grab bars and railings for my mom's place in Phoenix
The real hidden value nobody talks about is how those bars also help caregivers - my aunt broke her wrist trying to catch my uncle during a fall and that grab bar would've prevented both injuries. Sometimes the peace of mind is worth more than the hardware itself, you know?

inCan we talk about how I was storing my lenses wrong for years
Grab some compressed air and a UV light next time, @brooke_jones - the caked-on gunk hides everywhere in those sealed barrels. Tbh some people swear by freezing the lens overnight to loosen the dried grease before a proper service.

inA barista at a local shop told me my pour-over technique was ruining the bloom
Wait so you let it sit 30 seconds before adding more? Do you do that every time or just with certain beans?

inWarning: don't use self-leveling compound on a sloped shower floor
Oh jeez, that's rough. The thing is self-leveling compound isn't really meant for wet areas like showers because it can trap moisture underneath and cause mold or tile failure. Your buddy probably should've used a pre-sloped shower pan or built the pitch with dry pack mortar instead, it's way more forgiving and lets water drain through. I've seen guys try to fix flat floors with leveler too and it always ends up cracking or pooling just like you described.

inWalked into a repair shop in Phoenix that still uses old analog test gear on purpose
My grandpa had an old Grundig shortwave from the 50s he'd mess with, and he always said the crackle and pop was the radio "breathing" in the history of the world. He'd tune it to some random frequency and just listen to the static for an hour like it was a symphony. I think digital sets just filter out all that character, you know?
