Finally figured out a better way to float my driveways
Used to just trowel and pray with a magnesium float for years, leaving swirl marks I'd try to fix later. Switched to a resin float about 6 months ago after watching a guy in Oregon demo one at the supply house. It glides smoother and leaves a way more even finish with less effort. Has anyone else made that swap and noticed a difference on bigger slabs?

A resin float leaves a lot less marks than mag, that's true. But you gotta be careful with it on fresh concrete cause it can pull up the cream if you're not letting it set up enough first. I started using one about two years ago on a 30 yard garage slab and almost ruined it cause I went too soon.

Start watching your timing more closely with the resin float, you gotta let that surface set up just a bit longer than you think you need to. I messed up a small walkway my first time with resin by being too eager, pulled the cream right off in patches.
