Just poured my 500th slab and my back finally told me something
I was going through my old job logs last night and counted up every pour since I started my own crew back in 2019, and the number came out to 502 slabs. That is not a huge number compared to the big commercial guys, but it is wild to think every one of those started as a muddy mess I had to screed and finish by hand. The weird part is I remember maybe 30 of them clearly, mostly the bad ones where the mix came in hot or the client stood over me asking about the broom finish. I hit that milestone in my own driveway in Boise, just me and two guys, and my knees felt every single one of those 500. I keep a whiteboard in the shop now where I mark the date and square footage of each job, and seeing it fill up is better than any paycheck. Does anyone else track their pours, or am I the only weirdo writing down square footage like a nerd?
