Poured a 12x20 slab in Fresno last week and it started raining 20 minutes into the finish
We lost the whole edge on the north side, so we cut control joints early and hoped for the best. Anyone here ever save a slab that got hit mid finish, or is it always a tear out?
Tear outs are not automatic just because you got some rain on it. A little water on the surface during finishing is normal in plenty of places, and if the mix was right and you worked it back in, the slab can still hold up fine for years. Cutting joints early was smart, so I would wait and see how it cures before you start breaking out the jackhammer.
