Skeptical about the $12 plastic edge float from the box store, but it held up on a 40 foot sidewalk pour in Phoenix

Picked one up last month just to finish edges on a small backyard pour in Phoenix because my magnesium float was busy, and I figured the plastic one would be junk by the second load. Four pours later and it is still true with no warping, and the edges came out cleaner than what my old float leaves behind. Does anybody else keep a cheap plastic float in the truck for edges, or am I alone on this one?
