That old foreman's advice about wet cuts finally made sense

My first boss back in 2009 always yelled at me to keep the saw blade wet on every cut, said dry cutting was for guys who liked dust masks and cracked slabs. Blew him off for years until I took a job in Phoenix last summer and the heat made a 40-foot control joint spiderweb in two hours. Anyone else get burned by ignoring the old-timers on something simple like that?

Did he have any tricks for keeping the blade cool when the hose water pressure drops mid-cut?

Hose pressure drops are part of the gig, @singh.harper, so he just kept a backup spray bottle with ice water for the blade between passes. Honestly, I’d argue that slowing the cut speed does more than chasing perfect water flow.
