Hit 500 cold cases reviewed, but number 412 still bugs me

I do a hobby where I read through old police files and try to spot holes in the official story. Last month I passed 500 cases I've looked at since 2019. Number 412 was the one that stuck, a missing person out of Tulsa where the timeline in the report contradicts the witness statements by almost 40 minutes. Anyone else keep a mental list of the cases that just don't add up no matter how many times you go back?

Whoa, hold on. 40 minutes is a huge gap, that's not a tiny mistake, that's someone being very careful or very sloppy and both are bad. I bet if you lay that timeline out on paper next to the witness words it looks like two different nights happened. I've got my own case like that, a hit and run where the gas receipt puts the driver across town when the report says he was at the scene, and it still keeps me up some nights. You almost want to call someone about 412, but you know they'd just laugh you off the phone. Stories like that are why I keep a notebook, not a mental list, because my brain can't handle that kind of wrongness without writing it down.
