I used to laugh off every moon landing hoax video, now I catch myself pausing frames at 2am
Two years ago my buddy Dave showed me that Apollo 11 footage and I told him he was wasting his time watching YouTube junk. Fast forward to last month, I'm sitting in my apartment in Portland with my laptop at 1am, rewinding the same 40 seconds of the flag scene over and over trying to figure out if that shadow makes sense. The thing that got me wasn't the flag, it was some guy pointing out that the crosshairs on the camera lens appear behind the astronauts in certain frames, which sounds like a real problem until you read that the images were stitched together from multiple shots. I spent about 3 hours on a Tuesday reading forum posts from both sides and honestly I walked away more confused than when I started. My wife thinks I've lost it, and maybe she's right, but the part that bugs me is how fast people on both sides dismiss the other one without actually checking the source material. I'm not saying anything either way, I just want to know if anyone else here has gone down a rabbit hole they used to make fun of, and what finally made you stop or keep going.
