Saw a video where they used drones to map out a huge pile of gravel. They got the exact volume in like an hour, which would have taken a survey crew all day. The tech is way past just taking pictures now.

We did a stockpile check in Dallas and the drone data was within 2% of the manual survey. It saved us a full day of work.

Wait, they can actually get real data from those things? I always figured it was just fancy pictures for the website. What kind of stuff were they measuring on that Phoenix site?
