Showerthought: That fancy laser level I called a waste of money saved my whole crew on a Friday

I was dead set against dropping $300 on a self-leveling laser, figured a good old bubble level was fine. My foreman pushed me to try it on a 2-story commercial job in Portland last spring. First day using it, we framed a wall in half the time and didn't have to redo a single stud. Now I can't go back, has anyone else had a tool they resisted that totally changed how you work?

Wait, does yours just sit there looking all smug too? Mine literally lives in my toolbox now and gives me this side-eye every time I reach for the laser level instead. I swear it knows when I'm cutting corners. I tried using it the other day just to prove I still respect it, and it took me twice as long to level a shelf. Now I just keep it around out of guilt, like an old gym membership I'm too afraid to cancel.

You've nailed the guilt part. I keep mine on the workbench shelf where I can see it and feel bad every time I walk past.
