Spent 6 hours chasing a 2 inch layout error that turned out to be my laser level

I kept rechecking my tape and comparing corners instead of just flipping the level over to check the bubble, and after 6 hours I found out the thing was reading 5/16 inch off over 20 feet, so does anyone have a calibration trick for a rotary laser that doesn't cost more than the tool?
