Why does nobody mention laser levels for setting fence posts?
I set 14 fence posts in my backyard in Boise last weekend and tried two ways: a string line with a line level, then a cheap rotary laser I borrowed from my neighbor. The string line sagged in the heat and I was off by about half an inch on post 6, but the laser got every post within a quarter inch with no re-checking. It took me 3 hours the first way and 90 minutes the second. Has anyone else switched to a laser for posts, or do you just deal with the string line?
