I finally picked between writing one long prompt story a day or five short ones, and the short ones won
Last year I tried writing one 2,000 word prompt story every morning for 30 days. It took me about 90 minutes each time and I finished 22 of them. The problem was I kept stalling on the middle parts and losing steam. So in March I switched to writing five tiny 300 word prompt pieces a day instead, each built off a different random word. That took 45 minutes total and I finished all 5 on 26 out of 30 days. The weird part is the short ones gave me way more ideas to reuse later. Has anyone else gone back and forth on prompt length like this, and did the shorter stuff actually help you in the long run?
