inShoutout to the client who stayed calm when I messed up her color formula
Honestly that line about the plan just being the first step is so true. Tbh I've had that exact panic with ash toner going full ghost gray on someone. Threw a copper wash over it in a total hurry and it came out this amazing rose gold that she begged me to write down. Ngl half my favorite formulas started as a quick fix when something went sideways.

inHand planing this little box shifted my perspective for good
Come on... I tried hand planing a while back and it felt like endless work for little payoff. My shoulder was killing me after just a few passes, and the wood ended up with more dips than a smooth surface. Power tools get the job done fast without all that sweat and frustration... seems like nostalgia over real results.

inMy old massage table had a strap that snapped. Now I always check twice.
Reading your story, I see it another way. Sometimes gear just fails no matter how much you check it (I had a backpack strap snap out of nowhere after looking it over). Fixating on weak spots can take the fun out of using your stuff. Being careful is smart, but things breaking is often just bad luck. You can't always prevent it, so maybe don't let it worry you too much.

inIgnoring bulk bins was my biggest budget meal mistake
A friend of mine only bought those small spice jars for years. She was spending a fortune on like, tiny amounts of oregano and cumin. One day she compared the price per ounce to the bulk section and her jaw just dropped. She bought little jars to refill and cut her spice cost to almost nothing. It makes you wonder what else we’re overpaying for just because it comes in a pretty container, right?

inMy town's festival lights are bleaching out the stars every night
Hate seeing the Pleiades get lost in all that light pollution.
