Walked through the old library downtown and noticed all the card catalogs are gone

I was killing time before a job near Main Street and ducked into the public library, the one with the big stone steps I used to visit as a kid. Every single card catalog cabinet is gone, replaced by three computer terminals and a sign that says 'Ask Here.' Does anyone else miss the sound of those wooden drawers sliding open, or am I just getting old?

Oh, that library on Main Street is one of my favorites too. Walking in there and not seeing those old wooden cabinets just feels wrong to me. I remember spending whole Saturday afternoons pulling out drawers and flipping through the little cards, feeling the paper between my fingers. The way the ink had faded on some of them, like you could tell which books were checked out the most just by the wear and tear. Now it's all just bright screens and glowing buttons, and I swear it smells more like cleaning products than old books.

I once spent 20 minutes looking for a book that was right in front of me, classic me.

Haha yeah I'll admit I used to be all about the computers being faster but you're making me realize I kinda miss those old drawers too. There was something cool about actually touching the cards and seeing what other people had checked out before you.
