Rented with an 11% APR loan on my report and still got approved in Austin
My landlord in Austin pulled my credit and saw a car loan at 11%, but they only cared about my payment history and eviction record. I've heard people insist credit repair means raising scores first, while others say renters with steady income can bypass that. Which side has actually gotten someone approved with a sub-600 score recently?

You said they only cared about payment history and eviction record, and that's honestly the part people sleep on. I mean, yeah, a sub-600 score is scary, but most landlords aren't looking at your car loan rate, they're looking at whether you've paid rent on time for the last two years. The thing nobody considers is that a lot of property management companies run a separate screening that weights rental history way heavier than credit score, and they might even have a manual override if your income is 3x rent. I've seen folks with 580s get approved after they showed six months of bank statements proving consistent paychecks. It's not a score game, it's a risk game, and a paycheck beats a credit score every time in their eyes.
