Docu-series glamorized that Unarius group and Im tired of pretending otherwise

Used to watch any true crime doc with a cult angle, thought the wild costumes and past life claims were just quirky history, but after digging into the actual court records from their El Cajon compound I realized the editing left out the abuse allegations entirely. Now I check the survivor testimonies posted on their old mailing lists before trusting any streaming show narrative. Why does every producer think turning these groups into spooky entertainment is okay when the people who escaped are still living with the fallout?
