My mom clicked a fake Verizon bill link on Tuesday and now I'm the family IT guy forever
She called me at 9pm because the page asked for her social security number and something felt off. I keep telling everyone the same thing, hover over the link before you tap it, but nobody listens until it's almost too late. How do you get older relatives to actually slow down with this stuff?
Man, hovering over a link only helps on a computer. On a phone there's no hover. You tap and it's already loading. That's the part people miss when they give that advice. The better move for phones is to tell them to never tap links in texts at all, just go straight to the company's app or type the site in themselves.
