Serious question, why does everyone photograph the dead Sears and skip the weird little shops that pay rent there?
I have been poking around the mostly empty Coronado Center here in Albuquerque for about 2 years now (my route takes me past it every Tuesday) and 9 out of 10 posts I see online are just the same dark Sears entrance with a busted escalator. The real stuff is the shops still open. There is a key cutting place near the food court, has been there since 1987, guy charges $3.50 a key and has a hand written sign that says "yes we are still here" taped to the glass. Last month I watched him make 6 keys for one lady while she stood there and talked about her grandson, and nobody online will ever see it because it is not a cool abandoned photo. So my question is, can we start posting the businesses that are hanging on instead of just the empty anchors? What is the oldest still open shop in your local dead mall?
