Hit 100 online orders in a year and that changed how I see 'deals'
I keep a spreadsheet of every online purchase, just to track returns and stuff. Last weekend I hit order number 100 for the year, which felt wild because I never saw myself as a big shopper. But scrolling back through it, I found 38 of those were things I bought because of a countdown timer or limited stock notice. Stuff like a $6 phone stand that went up to $18 the next day, or a 3 pack of socks I didn't need. The weird thing is, those timers make me feel like I'm winning even when the item is junk. I finally added up all the shipping fees and impulse buys, and it came to $412 extra compared to what I'd pay in a store. Has anyone else let a fake scarcity badge push them into a bad buy, or am I the only one keeping a receipt spreadsheet?

Read somewhere that fake urgency tricks work on like 60% of people, so you're definitely not alone.
