Bought a $35 "mystery box" of phone chargers off a flash sale site and got 11 bricks
Saw a deal for a 10 pack of USB-C chargers for $35 with free shipping, which works out to $3.50 each, so I figured why not. Six weeks later a box shows up and every single one is dead, no output at all when I test them with my meter. I opened one up and the board inside is just a chunk of metal glued to the shell for weight. Some folks say these sites are just clearing old inventory and you accept the risk, others say it's straight fraud and you should always dispute it. Which side are you on, and did I just eat the $35 or is it worth filing a chargeback over?
My buddy Dave dropped $40 on a 12 pack of lightning cables from one of those sites and 9 of them were dead on arrival. He filed a chargeback that same week and got his money back in like 10 days, dude said it was way less hassle than he expected. For $35 I'd say file it, worst case they say no and you're out the same money you already lost.
