That viral stat about teachers working 53 hours a week didn't match my own timecard from last month
A friend sent me that survey claiming teachers put in 53 hours weekly, so I logged every minute for four weeks at my school in Reno and came out to 47 on the nose, with lunch duty eating 5 of those. The survey counted things like commuting and "thinking about lessons in the shower," which feels like padding the number to me. Does anyone know how they picked their sample, because 4,000 teachers out of 3 million seems thin?
