That $79 "miracle" mold spray nearly ruined my rental in Tampa. I saw this viral ad for a spray that supposedly eats mold on contact, no scrubbing, no bleach smell, and I bit after watching like six reviews. Paid $79 for a 32oz bottle and followed the directions to the letter on my bathroom ceiling corner. It just turned the black stuff into a weird yellowish film that smelled like burnt tires for three days. Then my landlord did his quarterly inspection and said I had to repaint the whole ceiling because the film wouldn't wash off, cost me $140 for paint and my Saturday. I should've just used the $6 bleach spray my dad always swore by, it actually worked on our porch last year. Has anyone else fallen for these magic cleaning products that just make the problem worse?

Did you check if the spray had any kind of guarantee or warranty on the bottle? Some of those viral cleaning products have a money back promise hidden in the fine print, but you have to file a claim within like 30 days and keep the original packaging. I had a similar thing happen with a carpet stain remover, and the company actually refunded me after I sent them photos and a copy of the receipt. Might be worth digging through your email for the order confirmation before you write off the whole $79. And honestly, next time your dad's bleach spray is probably the smarter move, even if it smells like a pool for a day.
