Just realized that viral 'shocking study' screenshot floating around got edited, and the timer on my phone proves it
Someone shared a screenshot in my neighborhood group last week claiming a study said tap water in my city has 3x the safe level of lead, and it got passed around to like 200 people by Thursday. I pulled up the actual study page on my phone to check the numbers, and the screenshot had a chart that doesn't even exist on the real page. The real chart shows a 0.3 percent change, and someone cropped a decimal point and swapped the whole graph. Took me about 10 minutes with a screenshot tool to line them up side by side. Has anyone else had luck getting a group to actually look at the side by side, or do people just keep sharing it anyway?
