Just watched a deep fake of a senator from Florida and the lip sync was off by half a second
I was checking out a clip that claimed to show Senator Marco Rubio saying something wild. The mouth movements didn't match the audio at all, especially on words with 'p' and 'b' sounds. It's a classic sign of a bad fake where the AI didn't get the timing right. Has anyone else seen a deep fake where the audio was just slightly out of step?

That Florida clip had the same lag wren230 mentioned.

Honestly, that weird lag might be the only way to spot a fake these days. The tech is getting so good that a tiny glitch is like a built-in safety feature, you know? If they ever fix the timing perfectly, we'll never know what's real. Maybe a little creepiness is a fair trade to keep us on our toes.

Ugh, that timing thing drives me nuts. I saw a fake last month of a local news anchor and the way his mouth kept moving after he stopped talking was super creepy, like a bad puppet. It's wild how a tiny delay makes the whole thing feel so wrong. What was the video even trying to make him say?
