Literally slept on the kitchen floor with a bag of frozen peas on my neck" - wait WHAT? That is insane but also genius honestly. I can't believe you made it four days like that, I would have lost my mind by day two. My AC went out last summer too and by the third night I was basically living in my car with the AC running, just sitting in the driveway crying. The frozen peas thing is next level survival mode though.

Oh man, that is seriously the worst! I had the exact same thing happen two summers ago, my AC crapped out on the hottest day of the year and I was stuck in a 90 degree apartment for like four days. I literally slept on the kitchen floor with a bag of frozen peas on my neck, it was so bad. It's amazing how fast you go from "this is a minor inconvenience" to "I will pay any amount of money for a breeze" when the humidity hits 100%. My landlord took forever to get it fixed too, so I feel your pain completely.
