Family clash over my fantasy landscape paintings
I make digital scenes with dragons and castles to show my relatives. My aunt says I should add more people to tell a story, but my cousin thinks empty landscapes feel more epic. It's tough when their tips pull me in opposite directions. How do you balance family suggestions with your own vision?

Was on your aunt's side until empty landscapes won me over.

Grand Canyon without people just feels wrong.

Tbh the whole debate misses how people give the place its real scale. Seeing those tiny dots hiking the Bright Angel Trail is what makes your brain get how huge the walls are. Ngl a totally empty canyon would just look like a pretty picture, not a real place you can go. The problem isnt people being there, its when there are too many to move. Honestly a few visitors in the shot makes it feel alive and not just some dead postcard scene.

You know, @jake_coleman, I get what you're saying about scale, but my best memories are from finding a quiet spot with no one else around. It lets the place just be itself, not a background for us.
