I used to think portfolio sites needed endless galleries. Then I saw one with just 5 pieces.
A friend of mine landed a freelance gig off a site that only showed 5 images, and I realized I was burying my best work under 40 mediocre ones. Has anyone else cut their showcase way back and seen better results?

Oh man, I was totally guilty of that too! I had around 50 pieces because I thought more was better and showed how much I could do. Then I read some advice that said just show your absolute best and leave them wanting more. I cut mine down to 6 and suddenly got way more people actually contacting me about hiring. It's crazy how having less makes people think you're more in demand or something.

Tbh I had 30 pieces up for years before a designer friend convinced me to cut it to 8. Noticed way more inquiries within a month.

That's wild how fast it changed for you. Did your friend give you any specific rules about what to keep or cut, or was it more of a gut feeling thing?
