My tablet froze right before a big client review

I was showing my new character design to a client over a video call last Tuesday. Right as I went to zoom in on the face details, my whole screen froze for a solid 45 seconds. I had to quickly switch to my phone to show the saved JPEG file I'd sent myself earlier. After the call, I did a full restart and cleared about 20 gigs of old project files I didn't need. It's made me start backing up my current work to the cloud every hour. Has anyone else had a tech panic moment during a presentation and found a good fix?

Honestly that "backing up every hour" habit is a total lifesaver. Tbh I've started doing the same thing but with an offline copy too, like a cheap USB drive I keep in my bag. It sounds paranoid but having a backup that doesn't need wifi saved me last month when my internet dropped. Ngl the real fix is just expecting things to go wrong and having a plan B ready to go.

Facts. That offline backup move is next level smart.

My friend Dave lost a whole client proposal when his laptop died right before a deadline. He keeps a flash drive in his car now.

Did you see that article about tech fails during big meetings? It said the average person loses about 15 minutes of work time a week just from small glitches. Your move to back up hourly is smart. I read that clearing your cache regularly can help prevent freezes, especially with big image files. Maybe set a calendar reminder to do that before any important call.
