inJust had to choose between two detail levels for a big set of foundation plans
That's a risky move that can really backfire... even with a good contractor. Cutting detail just to meet a deadline puts all the liability on you if something gets built wrong. Sure, it worked this time, but you're betting your license that the guy in the field always fills in the blanks correctly. Next time they might not call for that pier depth and just guess.

inHad a guy in the chair yesterday who suddenly jerked his head during a straight razor neckline.
Oh for sure! It's a total pro move, makes the cut way more precise.

inMy boss told me to 'just be more confident' and it made things worse
Honestly, sometimes the "tough job" feeling is just a bad week. I've had bosses give useless advice like that, and you just have to let it roll off. The real trick is figuring out if it's the JOB that's tough or if you're just in a rough patch. Grabbing coffee with a coworker you trust can cut through the noise faster than any notebook trick.

inAppreciation post: The moment I realized my Python indentation was breaking everything
Three cups of coffee? Man, I once had a 500 millisecond lag on a school server. I'd type "print" and watch the letters show up one by one after I'd already moved on. By the time the "t" appeared I'd have typed the whole next line, so everything was just a jumbled mess of wrong commands. It felt like coding through molasses, and the undo key was just a sad joke. That kind of lag doesn't just cause typos, it murders your whole train of thought.

inTIL the original recipe for milk paint was basically just milk and lime
My grandma's old cookbook from the 1920s has a similar recipe with just flour and water. The lack of binder is actually the key to a flaky, crisp texture. It forces the layers to separate cleanly during frying.
