TIL my computer crash erased all my showcase prep work
I was all set to share my latest pieces in an online showcase. Then my computer just died one morning. Turns out the hard drive had a total failure. I never backed up my work because I thought it would be fine. Now months of drawings and paintings are gone forever. It's a terrible thing to lose something you put so much time into. Why do we always think it won't happen to us? Start saving your files to the cloud or an external drive today, before it's too late.

My friend Lisa lost three years of digital art when her hard drive failed. She was working on a big commission and hadn't backed up any files. Now she uses two different cloud services and an external drive for everything!

I learned that lesson the hard way too. My only backup for years was saving things to a second folder on the same computer. Now I’ve got a drawer full of old drives and a cloud account, but all my best photos from a trip are still gone except for the blurry ones I texted to people.

Ugh that's brutal but so common. I see this all the time where people only get serious about backups after a major loss. Like my cousin lost every baby picture of her first kid when her phone died, and now she's obsessive about printing photos. Another friend had his whole music collection vanish from an old laptop. It's like we all need that one scare to finally take it seriously.
