That $15 cloud storage plan cost me 4 hours of digging this week
I paid for 2TB of Google Drive space back in March thinking it would fix my file chaos, but it just gave me a bigger junk drawer to lose things in. This week I spent 4 hours hunting for a scanned tax document that was sitting in a folder I created on a whim during a late night. Has anyone else found that paying for more space actually makes your hoarding worse instead of better?
Bigger junk drawer" is exactly right. The space isn't the problem, the lack of a system is. What worked for me was making like 5 main folders and forcing myself to dump everything into one of those, no random folders at 2am. Also name files with the date first (2024-03-15-tax-scan) so search actually finds them later.
